Judy Kuhn is best known for her Broadway roles in such musicals as Fun Home, Chess, and Les Misérables. She is performing at the Blue Strawberry on Friday, October 21 and Saturday, October 22 at 7:30pm. Judy spoke with Classic 107.3 host Julie Schuster about returning to St. Louis (for the first time in a loooong time), the joy of live performances, and what she loves to hear from audiences!

Judy Kuhn is a multiple Tony, Olivier and Grammy Award nominee. She sang the title role in Disney’s Pocahontas, including her rendition of “Colors of the Wind,” which won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for “Best Original Song.” In addition to her work on stage, film and television, Judy has appeared on concert stages around the world, including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and London’s Royal Albert Hall. She has recorded four solo albums: Just in Time: Judy Kuhn Sings Jule Styne; Rodgers, Rodgers & Guettel; All This Happiness; and Serious Playground: The Songs of Laura Nyro.
Joining Kuhn as emcee and music director is St. Louis-native John McDaniel, a Grammy and Emmy Award winning music director, composer, director, arranger, orchestrator, and producer who is also an artistic director at the Tony Award winning Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. Recently, McDaniel participated in a live Playbill concert event in Times Square welcoming back Broadway.
