• Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”, an evergreen holiday favorite ever since its premiere in 1892, is broadcast complete this year. We’ll feature the RCA/Sony Classical release featuring Leonard Slatkin conducting the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra to honor Slatkin’s 80^th birthday. This was the first Nutcracker recording to have been recorded in digital stereo and issued in that format on compact disc in 1985.
