Hélène Grimaud’s The Messenger

November 13th, 2020|Categories: Arts Personalities, Classical Music|

Keyboard Extravaganza – "There's nothing remarkable about it. All one has to do is hit the right keys at the right time and the instrument plays itself," Johann Sebastian Bach supposedly said about the piano. Hear remarkable music for that instrument, as well as for harpsichord and organ, every Friday this month from 6am to 6pm on Classic 107.3! Hélène Grimaud's new studio album, The Messenger, was released on October 2, 2020. For this concept album, Grimaud created a fascinating pianistic dialogue between Mozart and the Ukrainian-born contemporary composer Valentin Silvestrov. Hear Silvestrov's "The Messenger" from the album here, and tune in every Friday in November for more great keyboard works on the Voice for the Arts in St. Louis.
