Tennessee Williams Festival: Carrie Houk

Carrie Houk, Founder and Executive Artistic Director of Tennessee Williams Festival St. Louis, joins host Jim Doyle to talk about the 5th Annual Festival, En Avant! going on now.  Carrie shares how the decision was made to take the festival to the airwaves, noting that the gorgeous language that Williams used adapts beautifully to the radio. She talks about the theme, En Avant!, which means moving forward, and discusses each of the works featured in the festival, including "The Glass Menagerie".

The fourth night of the 5th Annual Festival features "The Glass Menagerie" by Tennessee Williams, followed by commentary with Tom Mitchell, TWStL Scholar-in-Residence. This performance features actors Elizabeth Teeter, Bradley James Tejeda, Brenda Currin, and Chaunery Kingsford. Then, hear "You Lied to Me About Centralia", which features actors Chauncy Thomas and Julia Crump. Tune in at 7pm for two incredible plays!
