Carrie Houk, Founder and Executive Artistic Director of Tennessee Williams Festival St. Louis, joins host Jim Doyle to talk about the 5th Annual Festival, En Avant!, going on now. Carrie shares how the decision was made to take the festival to the airwaves, noting that the gorgeous language that Williams used adapts beautifully to the radio. She talks about the theme, En Avant!, which means moving forward, and discusses each of the works featured in the festival, including “The Glass Menagerie”.

Jim says, “Carrie was a casting director for years and has been been involved with theatre all of her life. There are numerous Tennessee Williams Festivals around the world, but she thought that St. Louis, because of our city’s ties to the author, needed one as well. Obviously it’s been very successful! She’s a wonderful person and always a pleasure to have in for an interview.”
