Assistant Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Stephanie Childress, spoke with Classic 107.3 CEO and GM John Nasukaluk Clare about the program for her second set of concerts this weekend, which includes Luigi Boccherini’s Overture in D major, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Sinfonia concertante, K.364, and Ottorino Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances Suite No. 3.

Stephanie Childress began her musical career as a violinist; now in her early twenties, she is making her mark as a conductor. Stephanie’s remarkable musicianship and command of a broad scope of repertoire has led to engagements with symphony orchestras, contemporary chamber groups, and opera houses. She established her own ensemble, Orchestra Rheia, in 2019.
