John Clare speaks with Irish composer Patrick Cassidy about his new work, The Mass for Choir & Organ, which was recorded with each part in isolation due to the pandemic, as well as his film score work, including the Vide cor Meum, which was composed as a “mini opera” for the Ridley Scott film Hannibal.

From Patrick’s website, “While writing The Mass I was aware that this would be the first setting of the Catholic Latin Mass by an Irish composer – it was a labor of love with no expectations. To record with one of the great pipe organs of the world at First Congregational Church Los Angeles helped me achieve one of my major aspirations, and gave me a sense of purpose for this work.”
