Violinist James Ehnes sat down with Tom Sudholt to discuss practice schedules and the compulsion to play one’s instrument, musical interpretation and criticism, and Leonard Bernstein’s Serenade (after Plato’s Symposium), a piece that isn’t performed as often as Ehnes would like.
