Dan Brown, New York Times bestselling author of Angels and Demons and The DaVinci Code, has a new project: Wild Symphony – a symphonic work for kids! Mid-day host Kathy Lawton Brown spoke with Mr. Brown last week, and in their conversation they discussed Dan’s musical background, his “whimsically engaging” composition and its accompanying picture book.

“Last week, I had the distinct pleasure of chatting with Dan Brown, author of thriller novels and the popular Robert Langdon series,” Kathy said. “But there’s another side to Dan that might be new to you. He loves music! His mother taught him piano, and even at the tender age of five, Dan began creating his own melodies. He still plays daily – his ‘salvation’, as he calls it – and music has led him to an entirely new endeavor. Dan’s newest project is now released: Wild Symphony – a symphonic work for kids! The music is accompanied by a book, illustrated by Hungarian artist Susan Batori. The clever verses are spiced with anagrams and ambigrams, and there’s an extra-exciting feature – an ‘augmented reality’ app.”
